Day 27 :)

Day 27- Why are you doing this 30 day challenge?

I think the real question is why am I still doing this 30 DAY challenge that I started back in november of last yea? Initially I thought it would be fun to do this challenge because I could never think of things to post about. It sounded like a fun way to get blogging more consistently as well. I would have to say it worked. I've posted more in the first 6 months of 2011 than I did the entire year of 2010. July has been the exception.

All 5 of you that read my blog probably noticed that I haven't posted recently. I'm sure the deprivation has been difficult. We moved to a new apartment this month and have been without the internet for a few weeks. I am happy to say that we are almost entirely unpacked and settled in. I think the worst part about the move was the weekend before when AJ and I had the stomach flu. It really is not my favorite way to prepare for moving. I wouldn't recommend it. Fortunately my momma taught me well and I had everything that could be packed in advance, boxed up and ready to go.

As for the month of July we have been busy! We had a great 4th of July weekend. We went shooting the saturday before. This was the logical activity of choice for AJ, after all how could shooting stuff up for the 4th of july Not be patriotic. We started the morning of Independence day off right with a patriotic (in color scheme) breakfast of waffles with berries and whipped topping. Then we made our way to Porter Park after the parade to check out all the fun little stands they set up.
We spent the afternoon swimming at monkey rock and had a Band Of Brothers movie marathon that night. I think it is an extremely well done film and I seriously love all the old guys they interview. I'm feel so humbled after I watch movies like that. All too often I forget how much others have sacrificed so that I can live in safety and comfort.

To wrap up the day's festivities we blew up fireworks.
This was probably Adrian's favorite part of the day. Every year he makes a few of his own fireworks, and while it does make me EXTREMELY nervous, I have to admit that he made some really neat ones. He was proud of his pyrotechnics. I was proud nobody lost any appendages.
We had a fantastic Holiday weekend. I hope you did too!
