"Finding Nemo" anybody? We have been doing quite a bit of swimming lately. Between Monkey Rock and the Sand Bar we have been spending loads of time in the water. A good part of this has to do with the fact that Garrett and Bailey now live here and I'm fairly certain Garrett is part fish.
Last summer we were totally lame about getting outdoors, but we have been making up for it this summer. I love it. The oregonian in me is totally rejoicing about this.
Normally we go swimming during the day, oh you know like normal people. It was really hot one night, and even though we had already gone swimming that afternoon, AJ decided going swimming at normal hours of the day wasn't going to cut it. So we packed up his flashlights, grabbed a few glowsticks and headed out to the sandbar. (For those of you that don't know, my husband is a bit of a flashlight fanatic and since my sister-in-law is an engineer with Leatherman, he has a source to feed his addiction)
His fancy schmancy flashlights are water proof so he and Garrett placed them in several spots under the water to shed some light on where they were swimming. The picture really doesn't do a good job of showing it but those flashlights lit the water up well. They kept the glowsticks around their wrists so we could see where they were when they were diving into the water. I was kind of freaking out about the whole thing to tell you the truth. Each time they would dive in the water I would hold my breath until their head would pop up again. Call me paranoid, I don't care. AJ and Garrett on the other hand weren't paranoid at all and had the time of the lives. But it's like I always say, AJ makes sure we have and I make sure no one dies.
Adrian mid-flip off the diving board.
1- we had already been swimming that afternoon
2- the water was way to cold for any sane human being
3- How freaky is it so swim in a river in the dark? I say it is seriously freaky.
We are sad to say it but the summer is definitely giving way to Fall. Fall is my absolute favorite season but I am not ready for summer to be over just yet. We are going to try and squeeze in a few more warm weather activities before it is completely gone.
On a side note we have been married for 3 years as of tomorrow. After 1,094 days of being married to him I can conclusively say that I am married to the most wonderful man. I am so proud of him. He really does make my world go round.

Lindsey, I just love you! It looks like a blast, and I would have TOTALLY gotten in. =) But I guess there does have to be at least one sane and safe person.
PLUS, you know in that freaky night lake there were probably "PIRANHA FROM AMAZON!" haha
Miss you tons! Oh- and your hair looks hot!
Totally freak-a-doo!!!! I can barely swim in a river, let alone a dark river! Yikes!
